I think I'm going to like 26

And now I am 26 and it feels great! I think that the secret to not freaking out about age is liking your life and where you are in it. I mean if I had a lot of things still not figured out, if I wasn't doing what I know I'm meant to be doing than I might feel differently about being 26. But things are almost going according to plan.. and so it's good being this age.

Although I have decided not to panic about being single until I am 27.5.. so one and a half free years... not so much panic but look around and wonder what is going on...

Anyway my birthday was great yesterday! It began at 12:01 am... I had just fallen asleep about an hour before and my handphone starts ringing. In my sleepy confusion I just turn it off and roll back over... then suddenly I hear something outside my house. And then I hear someone banging like crazy on my front door. I start to freak out, maybe a little bit. Then I hear shouting: "Wake up Miss Jessica! Happy Birthday! Wake Up!"
So I jump out of bed and go to the door and there are three of my students standing there with a cake and candles, singing happy birthday to me. "We wanted to be the first ones to wish you a happy birthday," one of them says.
Then the other hands me a key and says: "I know BMWs are your favourite kinds of cars, this is the key to mine, wanna drive it around for a while?" Of course I do.. so we go driving, me, two of my coolest little brother student types and this really cute little blonde girl.. the only other blonde in Senior School. So I get to drive this sweet car around town for about an hour. It was a bit tricky because I haven't driven in a year and driving here is on the "wrong" side of the road.. but eventually it felt awesome! Then I went back to bed. It was really cool!

Then all day at school.. all of my classes threw me birthday parties.. starting with my homeroom.. cake at 7am.. but I got some really nice presents and just had a fun day hanging out with kids wired on snacks, pizza, cake and more cake! It was really great!

CF also took over my invigilation for me.. so that was awesome!

Last night I went to MK's with a few people for a nice dinner and drinks and it was nice too.. just drinking and chatting into the night...

Today is my Surprise Day with MK.. which actually starts in less than an hour. Then tomorrow I'm having my Birthday Buffet at the JW Marriot in the city with a bunch of people. So it should be a lovely weekend!

26 is pretty great so far!
